The University of Sharjah College of Pharmacy has launched a 2-year post-bachelor Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program. Through the PharmD program, students will be educated and trained to ensure that they have the knowledge, skills, and capabilities to become experts in the therapeutic use of medicines and contribute to improving the health and wellness of patients. Students will be engaged in immersive, hands-on experiential training in hospitals under the direct supervision of their clinical preceptors.

The first year of the program is an intensive 36-hour preparatory year in pharmacotherapy, therapeutic drug monitoring, clinical research and clinical skills development including patient assessment and pharmacotherapy workup.

The second year is an immersive, hands-on experiential training year where students train in hospitals and expected to practice the provision of clinical pharmacy on a daily basis under the direct supervision of their clinical preceptor who is also serving the pharmaceutical care needs of patients in the host hospital.

Our PharmD graduates will be prepared to serve as clinical pharmacists, capable of providing clinical pharmacy services in accordance with the highest standards of care in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare team members to improve their patient outcomes.
