The Department of Applied Physics & Astronomy is a cornerstone in the University of Sharjah and the College of Sciences, as it offers a wide spectrum of courses required by other colleges and departments across the university.

The Department offers undergraduate and graduate programs specialized in a wide variety of physics disciplines, which all aim at graduating individuals who will be valuable assets to their community.

In the Department students are encouraged to conduct research activities as they have access to well-equipped laboratories and analytical techniques available at the University’s main campus, the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy and Space Sciences (SAAST), and some international Institutes, such as CERN and ICTP.
